This year bands such as Sigur Rós from the Nordic, known in Chile by
their delicate music and lyrics, will perform their colorful side as
they will be dressed up in colorful clothes showing good sense of
humor which is unusual from them as they were also known by their
serious attitude (as seen on their videos) and by the use of oniric
images representing childhood.

While Orbital will present their great capacity in electronic dance
music using futuristic images on stage.

Now out of stage there will be varied entertainments like a place for
foodies who will taste samples and dishes by different chefs who
participated in a previous contest just for to be present at
Bestival.

The attendees will also have a room to practice yoga and other modern
tendencies of relaxation leaded by musician David Byrne.

Another thematic area will be especially devoted to Bollywood and all
their tendency in music and films which show the contemporary
artistic and cultural expressions from India, making their music and
movies a parody of western films from Hollywood in the 1950s and
beyond.
There will also be a place to discover called “The Great Palace of
Fun” where colorful scenery surrounded by phosphorescence and exotic
flowers will be shown with a good amount of audiovisual stimulant in
this enjoyable place.
Of course there will be areas for kids too and other alternatives to enjoy also.

They have achieved enormous success in Latinamerica due to their recent performances with
musicians such as Alanis Morrisette, Juanes, No Doubt and Oasis, among others at the annual
pop music festival in Caracas where Caramelos de Cianuro had a chance to share their songs
with those artists.

Now they will make their video debut in our country (Chile) where they have already had a
massive success as their songs have been played over many local radio stations.

The video was filmed in the beaches of San Roque, in Venezuela, where the tourist beauty of
the place is the main focus.

They have had more than 100 performances in 2011 in different places of the U.S., including
Washington, Miami and New York.

They have been confirmed at the Vive Latino festival in Mexico this year and it is guessed
that soon they will come to Chile to promote their albums.

The band has released a new album: “Arauco y Cajun” that summarizes their live performances
in different places in Latinamerica, such as Uruguay, Argentina, Santiago and Valparaíso
last year, (2011).

The name of the album is a combination of two well known locations in Chile: Arauco and
Cajón, with Cajun, which is in the Mississippi in the U.S., where he has kept a music style
that has inspired this band in their compositions.

This band has recorded most of their albums at Algo Records, where they as producers and
recording studio have been famous by releasing as many albums by chilean artists as they
can in vinyl format, such as Perrosky (who have also helped producing Matias Cena’s album).

In March this year they will have a release party for their new album at a local place in
Bellavista, in Santiago, Chile, the date will be posted soon in our calendar of events.

We hope to hear the new material soon, so we can listen to the roots of jazz, according to
Matías Cena’s interpretation, in a fresh and joyful sound, just like Cajun and ragtime.

Mauricio Clavería’s participation began in February this year at the Corona Música festival
in Acapulco (México). To him working with Fobia is not a strange thing as he had already
collaborated sporadically with the singer of the band (Leonardo Lozano) in 2007 in a
different music project called Los Concorde.

The two musicians (Clavería y Lozano) agree that La Ley (chilean rock band), has an
important and honorary place in contemporary rock in Latinamerica.

Fobia has scopes for Clavería as they believe he can help in the songwriting of the
drumming sections for the new album which they pretend to release in May this year with a
title to come but that had already started recording last year and it only needs to
fine-tuning a few details.

It will be like feeling the strong sound of La Ley’s drums combined with great memories.

With this cultural and informative initiative, which in turn is an original and creative
way, the human rights have been manifested through songs performed by current artists and
others that no longer are with us.

The idea to think about and fit with the different realities within society is the main
focus of these rights that began as a way to expose the diverse ways to express our
freedom, for example, by considering the freedom of speech (one of the most important Human
Rights for the development and formation of people in their life) and the proposal of the
rights for sexual minorities in our current days, all of this is summarized in a music
release with lyrics and music by Bob Dylan but interpreted by musicians from different
nationalities and styles such as: Jazz, Rock, Electrónica, Folk , Punk, with the guest
appearances of Joan Báez, Miles Cyrus, Patti Smith, and Tom Morello… reuniting so more
than 75 artists in total.

It is worth mentioning the incessant work of musician Bob Dylan during his life for peace
and defense of human rights in the world, alluding to these subjects through his music and
art.
